Looking into our survey archives, I face a probably commonly shared issue: the survey data are "lost" and what remain are the charts, a huge amount of charts, creating a massive frustration: a tremendous survey effort was made over decades and the raw data are mostly gone. So I'm looking into option to re-acquire all these data without resurveing everything: too much work, not enough time. A option would be to recreate the data from the charts and I think this could be done in CPR if we had a specific feature for that purpose. It would require the following steps:
Step 1 load the chart (plan), scale it, rotate it. Step 2 drawn the survey shots by clicking the various paths > length and azimut can be calculated Step 3 draw left and right
Step 4 load the chart (section), scale it. Step 5 drag and drop the station to there vertical position > inclinaison can be calculated Step 6 draw up and down
Yes, a tool to dizitize virtual survey shots based on chart would be great, LRUDs could come in a later development. Roughly I have 150+ caves to digitze... :( this go from very small caves to much bigger ones.
